Once you get used to the physics, which admittedly are much different than the platformers you listed and even older Mario games, you'll be fine. The game isn't particularly difficult. New Super Luigi U, on the other hand, is difficult and excellent. Funny enough, the physics in New Super Luigi U are more floaty and slippery than in the base game!
